14U Results

The Sharks played extremely well in winning the Raider Softballfest.  Everyone contributed in the victory.  The Sharks, with a depleted lineup, won their 1st game 10-0 as Savanah Einsig pitched a no-hitter.  Sharks won a close 3-2 game vs the Baseliners.  On Sunday they beat the Bayside Blues 8-0, Mt. Vernon Magic 10-0 and the Baseliners again in the championship game 3-0.  The pitching was awesome only allowing 10 hits all weekend.  Outstanding defense, great base running and solid execution were the keys to victory.

SHARKS WIN RED RAIDER SOFTBALLFEST.

The Sharks had an outstanding Saturday during the tournament, finishing the day as the #1 seed.  They beat the Virginia Bobcats 9-4, lead by the pitching of Louie Boarts.  Later that day, Olivia Nielsen pitched the Sharks to a 8-3 victory over the Burtonsville Heat. The finale was a terrific game; Louie Boarts pitched a masterpiece as the Sharks beat the eventual champs, the Blue Ridge Heat 2-1.  Val Templin drove in the winning run, and the entire team played great.  Sunday was a different story as the girls started strong, but a bad inning did them in in a 11-1 loss to the Manassas Blaze.

SHARKS ARE 5TH AT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

The Sharks finished 5th out of 26 teams at the recent BCA Tourney.  They went 3-0 on Saturday beating the SYA Xplosion, the Burtonsville Heat and the Olney Cougars Red.  Although shorthanded and missing three players, including 2 pitchers, the Sharks played well.  On Sunday, the Sharks eked out a 4-3 victory over the Baseliners and lost a close nail-biter to the Maryland Express 10-9.  The Sharks left the winning run on base in a tight game.  Catherine Hall got her swing going with several hits over the weekend.  Louie Boarts and Olivia Nielsen pitched well throughout the weekend.  Ellie West and Laura Gersony played solid defense.
