Dan Barnowski is the head coach of the 18U Sharks.  Dan has coached travel and rec ball for many years in Montgomery County MD.  His assistant coach is Andrew Sonnabend, who is the coach of Churchill HS in MD. He recently led them to a second-place finish in the MD State Finals.

 

The 18U Sharks will play tournaments in the fall and summer, almost exclusively local and will practice at Langley HS in McLean, VA.  The plan is for the team to play for two years, through the Summer of 2027.

 

Our goal is to help the girls become strong contributors to their high school teams.  Practices will have a heavy emphasis on: (1) hitting live, fast, pitching – you only get better at it by doing it, (2) working on fundamentals – both defense and base running, and (3) live action, situational play so the girls get used to making the right decisions while under the stress of game action.  As coaches, we believe in using positive reinforcement and instruction. We don’t yell, ever, except to cheer for strong play.  But we will teach.
